What is The Cisco Networking Academy Program?
The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a revolutionary partnership between Cisco Systems, Inc.
and schools across the nation. It is designed to teach students how to design, build and maintain
computer networks.
Through a range of information-age teaching media and methods, the Networking Academy goes
beyond traditional computer-based education, helping students develop practical computer networking
knowledge and skills in a hands-on environment.

What certification(s) can I obtain?
There are many levels of Cisco certification. The Community College of Beaver County Cisco Networking
Academy Program prepares students for the
Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) Certification.
Once students complete Sessions 1 through 4 of training, they will be prepared to take the CCNA exam,
which is a supervised exam administered at a Cisco Testing Center.
Once a student passes the CCNA exam, other certifications are available if he/she wishes to pursue:

What employment opportunities and types of jobs are there for this type of training?
Companies today face a shortage of information workers. The Information Technology Association of
America, in a recent report, puts the number of unfilled IT positions at roughly 346,000 for businesses
with 100 or more employees, or about three vacancies for each company. Starting salaries for these types
of jobs range between $30,000 and $40,000 annually.
Through the Cisco Academies, students acquire the school-to-work experience they need to take immediate
positions in networking.

How long is the course?
Currently, each semester course runs 9 weeks, 2 days per week, 4 hours each day. Please stop back and view our schedule so you can see what semester class will be scheduled at what time & where. Information will be posted here as soon as classes are scheduled. We will be offering additional classes and times, even during the day, depending on the demand.

How much does the course cost?
Classes for the public are $1495.00 per semester. Anyone may enroll for the class. You
do not
have to be a student at CCBC to enroll in the Cisco Networking Academy.

located at the Beaver County Aviation Sciences Center in Chippewa.

Community College of Beaver County

Additional Session 1 classes will be opened depending on demand. If you are interested in a Session 1 class, please call and have your name added to a list. Once enough students are accumulated, another Session 1 class will be scheduled.
